Mantova pressrelease 3

An Infoday entitled “How to finance energy efficiency – European funds and investment forums in the TRACE Project at the Province of Mantova” has taken place today in the context of the European Energy Week. The TRACE Project is financed by the European Union as part of the South East Europe Programme.

This event, mainly aimed at experts and local administrators, was presented by local Counsellor Maurizio Castelli and attracted the interest of its participants thanks to its practical and technical approach adopted by the speakers Nicola Galli of AGIRE, engineer Pierluigi Fecondo di Studio Abita (advisor for the Province of Mantova for the TRACE Project) and Prof. Marco Devetta of Sogesca srl.

The conference began at 2.30 pm and continued through the afternoon with an intense succession of meetings and talks on numerous topics: from the European and national legislative context of energy incentives, to the range of funding opportunities available (such as Jessica, Elena, Mlei, etc.) and the practical experience of private buildings in Padua; from the presentation of projects such as ALPSTORE, LICEA, ALPENERGY carried out by the Province of Mantova and AGIRE with important international partnerships.

The day was concluded with a speech by engineer Fecondo, who analysed the PAES of some of the municipalities included in the Province of Mantova and explained how a network can be built to allow for the cooperation between different administrations in view of re-qualifying schools, public buildings and public lighting. Prof. Fecondo explained how this network could create a sufficient basis for accessing European funds that require a minimum investment of 6 to 10 million euros (otherwise impossible to access by single entities).

The minutes of the conference will soon be available on the TRACE Project’s website, Following this workshop, in the context of the TRACE Project, another training session will be organised on 3rd July 2004 (at the Province of Mantova, in via Don Maraglio between 2 and 6 pm). This event will be aimed at local administrations and professionals and some of the topics discussed will be the economic and legal aspects of the EPC contracts, energy audits as operational tool, etc. For those interested, registration for the next training session is free (a request has been forwarded to the Professional Association for the recognition of training credits), but we kindly ask you to RSVP by emailing
