Mantova pressrelease 6

The Provincial authority is a protagonist in the final meeting of the TRACE Project

At the Pireo Chamber of Commerce in Greece, the last of a series of events organised within the TRACE Project focused on Transnational cooperation for improving the energy efficiency of buildings – EU SEE Programme 2007-2014.

The Province of Mantova was amongst the participants of the final conference.

Even though TRACE’s activities will be technically concluded at the end of December 2014,  this meeting has allowed all partners to present and share the outcomes of their work on the project over the last 25 months. The main objective of TRACE has been that of supporting local and regional administrations of South East Europe in the development and promotion of sustainable policies aimed at improving the energy efficiency of buildings. The Partnership was made of the Pireo municipality (Greece), the Commercial University of Wien and the KDZ Research Centre for the Public Administration (Austria), Regional authorities of Gabrovo and SOFENA, the European Agency of Sofia (Bulgaria), the Centre for the Research and Protection of renewable energy and resources (Greece), the Province of Perugia (Italy), the Energy agency of Romania, ENERO, the Energy Agency of Savinjska, Saleska and Koroska (Slovenia), the Regional Agency for the Economic Development of Sarajevo (Bosnia-Herzegovina), the City of Zagreb (Croatia) and the ECC, Centre for Energy Excellence of Albania.

Thanks to TRACE, the participating countries have been able to share information on their current energy efficiency policies, identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the implementing methods set out in the European Directive. They have also been able to share ideas and develop new procedures, strategies and networks that allowed them to exchange information and experiences, create a free, multilingual European database on the subject, provide training materials to support the implementation of new polices and to raise awareness on the most important measures for the improvement of the energy efficiency of buildings, as well as develop local/regional strategies for energy efficiency.

During the Conference, the Province of Mantova shared their best practices in relation to the advertising campaigns on energy efficiency in the TRACE partnership countries and to the implementation of the local Energy Investment Forum.
