Final Conference of the Project TRACE in Piraeus

The Department for Planning and Development of the Municipality of Piraeus organised with success the Final Conference of the project “Transnational cooperation for the improvement of buildings energy performance and efficiency” (TRACE). The Final Conference took place on the 25th of September 2014 in the premises of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Piraeus.

The opening speech was held by Mr. Alexandros Argoudelis, Deputy Mayor of Technical services and infrastructure Networks of the Municipality of Piraeus. Renowned speakers from 9 countries represented the project partners at the conference. The topics discussed were, among others, „The role of territorial administrations in SEE on energy performance of buildings”, “Policy Instruments Enhancing Energy Efficiency Investments in Buildings”, “Territorial strategies and policies for long-term energy efficiency targets in buildings“, “Collection of good practices on the use and impact of energy performance certificates” etc.

The role of the TRACE Project in promoting international cooperation among research centres and public administrations was highlighted during the conference, as was the importance of its outcome for improving energy efficiency in buildings. Emphasis was given in the general contribution of the project in accelerating all those necessary reforms and measures to achieve the goals set in the Directive 2010/31/EU (EPBD) and the EU Agenda for Europe 2020.

The TRACE project is being co-funded under Priority Axis 2 - Protection and Improvement of the Environment of the South East Europe Programme, achieving the corresponding objectives through the Area of Intervention (AoI) 2.4 - Promote energy and resources efficiency.
